Antonis Eleftherakis was a photographer whose deep connection with light made his work instantly recognizable. Born and raised in Athens, he discovered photography at a young age and soon began a lifelong journey marked by artistic sensitivity and technical precision. His passion led him to Santorini, where he found both inspiration and belonging.
Through his lens, he captured the essence of the island — from its volcanic formations to archaeological sites — offering his work selflessly in support of its culture. Beyond photography, Antonis was also a dedicated musician, participating in local bands and inspiring his grandchildren through music.
Known for his kindness, humility, and perfectionism, Antonis transformed everyday moments into art. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through the luminous images he left behind and the lasting impact he had on the Santorini community.
Special thanks go to his wife, Rena Gantzaki, and his close friends Thodoris Chrysomallidis and Themis Kapetsonis for sharing memories and valuable material from his life.
